The ABC's Of Becoming A Christian

A - Admit

  • I am a sinner. In the eyes of God, who is Just and Right, even a white lie is breaking one of His Commandments. Have I never done anything wrong? Who of us then, can truly say we are without sin?
  • I need to be forgiven.

    • “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”
    James 2:10

    ”For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
    Romans 3:23

B - Believe

  • Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died - taking the punishment for my sin. He rose from death and is alive today.

    • “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
    1 Corinthians 15:3-4

    ”For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
    Romans 6:23

C - Commit

  • To Jesus - PRAY and Commit yourself completely to Him; trusting Him to forgive you of your sin, thus giving you a new life.

    • “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
    John 1:12

    ”For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
    Romans 10:13

Next - Model Prayer

    "Dear Lord Jesus,

    I know that I am a sinner. I believe you are the Son of God, that you live, and that only you can save me from my sins. Forgive me. I am ready to commit my life to you.

    Please, come into my life and be my Savior and Lord. Thank you, for forgiving my sins, and that I will spend eternity in heaven with you when my life here on earth is over. Amen."

    If you prayed this prayer earnestly (from the heart), you are saved! The scriptures above have proven this fact. You and the Lord Jesus have a personal relationship that will grow. You now will need to tell someone what has happened in your life and to find a Bible-believing church where you can be supported and nurtured as you continue to grow in your new faith.
